1. Characteristics
a. It is most natural to connect with God through the five senses….creation.
b. They enjoy the Bible stories where they can experience the sights, sounds, and smells of the story.
c. Worship is enhanced through symbols and movement.
2. Strengths
a. Appreciating beauty (e.g. arts). Sensitivity to atmosphere.
b. Worship through creation.
3. Weaknesses
a. Too dependent on aesthetics.
b. Creation can be worshipped instead of creator.
4. Neglect

B. The Rational Style: Understanding the Nature of God
1. Characteristics
a. Thinking plays a prominent role in connecting with God.
b. Science and logic compliment faith.
c. Questions deepen faith.
2. Strengths
a. They strive for explanations.
b. Science is utilized in faith.
3. Weaknesses
a. Intellectual pride.
b. Rationalism.
4. Neglect
a. Sacrificial living.
b. The trans-rational dimension.
C. The Doctrinal Style: Thinking Correctly About God
1. Characteristics
a. They connect with God through truth.
b. Accuracy and authority of the Bible are critical.
c. Deep skepticism of the subjective.
2. Strengths
a. A strong emphasis on doctrine.
b. Emphasize the whole Bible.
3. Weaknesses
a. Dry abstractness.
b. Lack of love.
4. Neglect
a. Personal experiences
b. Nurturing the inner life.
